Prepare for Roe with Feminist Materials!

January 4, 2012

This year Feminists for Life celebrates 40 years of education and advocacy for women and children.

That's right: Before Roe, FFL said "no" to abortion and "yes" to life.

So although January 22 is the tragic anniversary of Roe v. Wade, on which we remember the women and children who are no longer with us because of that fateful decision, FFL's 40th anniversary is something to celebrate.

To kick off our celebration, we are offering materials to make the biggest push ever to get our message across--that Women Deserve Better® than Abortion--and to help people understand that when we say "better" we mean addressing the unmet needs that drive women to abortion.

We have materials in English and some in Spanish.

You may, for example, download and print FFL's free Women Deserve Better and Raising Kids on a Shoestring ads to use as flyers or posters. (You must observe FFL's guidelines for use.) High quality and large prints may be made at local print and copy shops.

Or you may order a combination of FFL brochures--Refuse to Choose, You Have Better Choices, and Voices of Our Feminist Foremothers--for distribution. Activist packs of "Raising Kids on a Shoestring" and "March Forth!" issues of The American Feminist make great educational tools.

In addition to displaying Peace Begins in the Womb and Women Deserve Better bumper stickers on cars and bikes, some FFL members and activists take them to pro-life conferences, rallies, and marches to wear on jackets outdoors or stick on water bottles and notebooks indoors.

(If you would like to order items in time for Roe events, please order ASAP--no later than Tuesday the 10th--to ensure delivery!)

Think about displaying FFL posters, ads, and brochures in dorms and student centers, in community centers, places of worship, grocery stores, restaurants, shops, libraries, and women's centers. (When posting and placing, always ask permission and follow any local guidelines, regulations, or ordinances.)

And if you will be in Washington, DC, or San Francisco this month, please meet the chair of FFL's Board Patrick O'Kane at the Walk for Life West Coast, FFL speaker Sally Winn at the Students for Life of America National Conference, and FFL speaker Jessica O'Connor-Petts at the Cardinal O'Connor Conference on Life!

Because women deserve better,
Serrin M. Foster
President

P.S. Please make sure your membership is current, and thanks to all who made a year-end gift!
